It has been well documented on this site that there are numerous AFL players who deserve to be in the NFL Hall of Fame that are not. Any hopes of correcting this injustice lies in the HOF's Senior Selection Committee. Each year the HOF sends this committee a list of candidates on or before June 1. This list consist of players' whose playing career ended 25 or 26 years ago and those that someone nominated. Since all former AFL players' playing career ended over 26 years ago in order for them to be considered they need to be nominated. I therefore volunteer to nominate Otis Taylor and do so every year until he is selected. I encourage others to do the same for their favorite player.

Nominations can be made by writing a letter to the HOF and mailing it to:

Great stuff. Something needs to be done about the AFL'ers and the HoF, but I'm just not yet sure what it is.

Unfortunately these guys are very old now and even the younger ones are in their 70's. There are several sites like this on the internet and writing letters is the only way that their name will get to the Senior Committee.

Good point about the age. I was researching Charley Hennigan this week; he's 78. A letter writing campaign is great ( groundswell on Facebook is better ) as these gentlemen are in the twilight of their lives. If the HoF were to establish an AFL selection committee with the express purpose of reviewing stats, game film, championships, etc, and choose 5, 10 or 15 players ( honestly, quintuple that ) that would satiate at least some of the wrong that has been done against the AFL.
