Todd Tobias's interest in the American Football League began in 1998, when he wrote my master's thesis about Sid Gillman. He created this site to educate and entertain football fans with the stories of the American Football League, 1960-1969. You can follow Todd and get more AFL history on Twitter @TalesfromtheAFL.

Great collection! While going through some boxes of old stuff the other day, I came across a nearly complete set of the 1981 TCMA cards. I also had all but one of the 1987 supplemental set. As a result, I’ve been doing some on line research on these cards the past couple of days and found this site. It’s outstanding! What a trip down memory lane! I live 35 miles from Green Bay and have been a lifelong Packers fan(61 years), but I always loved the old AFL. Old double zero, Jim Otto was always a favorite as was #40 of the Raiders, Pete Banaszak, as they were both born and raised in Wisconsin. Congrats on your great collection!
