1960 Buffalo Bills
A couple of weeks ago I sent out a request for AFL team photos. I would like to make a separate section of the site dedicated to team photos for each team, each season. Several readers have responded, sending scans that they have had in their own collections, or that they have found just for the site.
There are 86 possible regular season team photos that I could use (8 teams X 10 seasons + 4 Dolphins + 2 Bengals), and I currently have 35 of these photos. Like I said, great progress, but we have a long way to go. I have listed the photos that I currently have below. Ha! Yes, very small!! I’ve actually got a few more team photos than I listed, but they are do small that you can’t really make out the players.
Do you mind if we’d download our’ favorite team’s photo to use as desktop background & the like?

I chipped in 34 and still have more to Scan, Todd. Hope to get that done over the next week or so ! Would be cool to see them all from every team and each year !!
You sent some great stuff, Scott! One suggestion, though, is if you could be sure to scan the images as large files, so that each player can be recognized on the screen. Though I am sure you already knew this, and maybe pulled some of the images off the internet or somewhere else. Regardless, thanks for all of the help!!!

A funny story is that I went to an autograph show many years ago where several former Raiders were signing. I mainly went to get Jim Otto, the others were icing on the cake. I wore my authentic NFL “00” Otto jersey. I presented my 8 by 10 photo for Jim to sign. He signed it, and when he saw my jersey he told me to come behind the table and “bend over”, which drew a chuckle from some of the guys. Anyways, he signed the jersey I was wearing very nicely for no charge, which drew a frown from the show representative sitting next to him. I now have the jersey nicely matted and framed…
Todd…most came from books and collectibles that I have maintained for a number of years. I tried to scan the ones from the books as best I could. Will get the next round to you shortly

I lived in the shadows of the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Tx during the late 50’s until the Cowboys moved to Irving, TX, Texas Stadium. I attended both Texans and Cowboys games during that time and most people may find it hard to believe, but the Texans was the most liked team. The Cowboys where the new team on the block , and had a tough time pulling in Fans. No reserve seating, an Adult ticket holder could bring in 5 or 6 kids on a single ticket under the age of 12 . Eddie Labaron was the quarterback, Amos Marsh was the running back, Frank Clark and Pettis Norman were the tight ends. The Cowboys cheerleaders had males at the time, Cowboys had an old white model T with a saddle mounted on a barrel connected to the car , and after a score a Cowboys mascot would ride around the field and make the front end of the car raise up like a horse. The Fan Base For The Cowboys Today, Started With My Generation!! I was one of those 12 and under kids!
