Don Trull played six seasons in the American Football League after being drafted out of Baylor University by the Houston Oilers in the 1963 AFL Draft. Trull languished behind George Blanda for a few years in Houston before getting his chance at a starting role. He was traded to the Boston Patriots during the 1967 season, and finished the season as their starter. However, after suffering a shoulder injury early in 1968, Trull was released, and picked back up by the Oilers, with whom he spent the final two seasons of his career.
