Thanks to reader Tex Noel for bringing this to my attention. Marion Rushing, a linebacker whose career ended in 1968 with the Houston Oilers, passed away this past Friday. He was 76 years old. You can read Mr. Rushing’s obituary HERE.

Thanks for posting. It is interesting to research these players. Rushing, like many other AFL and NFL players of that era, spent some of their prime years in the military serving their country. We don’t see that today other than the heroic Pat Tillman. Thanks again.
