The Ring…  It is the tangible piece of the goal that all professional football teams have entering into each new season.  This is the ring that Chris Burford received after his Dallas Texans won the 1962 AFL championship game.

Chris, I’m sure when you stare at that ring, the camaraderie and the ever lasting friendships always come to your mind.I think it’s great that guys like yourself and Jim Otto intereact with the great fans of the AFL. Old school, can’t beat it.

Chris, what an elegant ring! It must be especially rewarding to know that you and your Texan teammates earned it by defeating a great Oiler team at what that time was the longest football game ever played. Continue to wear it in good health!
